Some situations may arise where you require IT support while in a different location from your support representative. 
There are a few key steps to prepare your laptop or desktop computer to allow remote access:


  1. Ensure your laptop has access to the internet. 
  2. Download TeamViewer host and install it on your computer.

  3. While installing you will be prompted to set a password. Use something you can share with your support rep, like: TechDawg2016
  4. Once installed, TeamViewer will present a window with a 9 Digit Number; send this number and your password to your support rep.


  5.  Ensure your laptop is online and not in sleep mode at the time when your technician is scheduled to connect, or disable sleep mode on your computer from the power settings in Control Panel (Windows) or System Preferences (Mac).
